RM and V Celebrate Military Discharge with Confidence and Style
On June 10, BTS members RM and V officially completed their mandatory military service. They were discharged from their respective units—RM from the 15th Infantry Division Military Band and V from the Special Mission Team of the 2nd Army Corps Military Police. After reporting their discharge, they greeted the press in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province. RM appeared wearing sunglasses and playing the saxophone. V, holding a bouquet of flowers, smiled brightly as he arrived. The two shared a hug and saluted the press with confidence and warmth.
RM and V Reflect on Military Discharge and Personal Growth
RM expressed a sense of gratitude and realization. He noted that although their service seemed short, it was meaningful. RM said he had many hard and difficult moments but came to appreciate the soldiers who protect the country while others perform on stage. He emphasized that their freedom to create and perform was possible because of those who serve, both at the frontlines and behind the scenes. He also mentioned that his time in the military helped him grow closer to fellow veterans and soldiers.
Military Discharge Inspires RM and V to Reconnect with Fans
Both RM and V shared heartfelt thanks to their fans, known as ARMY. RM mentioned his concern for the soldiers still serving and encouraged them to endure just a bit more. He promised to return as BTS’s RM, stronger and more committed. V shared how the military gave him a chance to rebuild his mind and body. He said he couldn’t wait to reunite with fans and would return soon with a great performance. He thanked the commanders and fellow soldiers who supported him and hoped they all complete their service safely.
A Celebration of Reunion and Fan Anticipation
Their discharge came just three days before BTS’s debut anniversary on June 13. In celebration, their agency HYBE wrapped its Yongsan building with a banner that read “WE ARE BACK,” alongside the ARMY logo. The joyful mood extended online as fans, especially users of the Korean community theqoo, reacted with affection. They were delighted by RM’s playful saxophone performance and V’s confident appearance. Many, mostly middle-aged women, described the two as “adorable,” noting how V looked fit but not excessively bulky from military training.
The Return of All Members: A New Chapter Begins
Before RM and V, Jin and j-hope had already completed their service. On June 11, Jimin and Jungkook will be discharged, and SUGA will follow on June 21. By then, all members will have reunited. HYBE will host a large-scale event at Kintex, Goyang, on June 13–14 to celebrate BTS’s 12th anniversary, featuring over 20 exhibition booths. j-hope is also scheduled to hold a finale concert at Goyang Sports Complex. Fans are hopeful that recently discharged members will make an appearance, signaling a full-group return that has been long-awaited.
